Home WAN / internet uplink alerts
Home WAN / internet uplink alerts. Fires when the primary WAN drops, when failover engages, and on recovery. Sourced directly from the UniFi controller (UDM at 192.168.1.1) — no intermediate script.

Publishers
Every code path / config block that produces messages on this topic today. If you wire a new publisher, add it here.
UniFi's built-in webhook notifications. The controller monitors WAN reachability and failover state natively; selected events get POSTed to ntfy.sh as JSON payloads, which ntfy treats as the message body.
- · Primary WAN goes down (gateway unreachable)
- · WAN failover engages — secondary uplink takes over
- · Primary WAN restored
- · Other gateway events if enabled in the UniFi notification settings
How priorities are assigned
UniFi doesn't set a Priority header — everything arrives at the topic default (3). Bump priority on your phone subscription if you want a louder buzz when the home pipe drops.
Notes
- If WAN goes hard down, the UniFi webhook itself can't reach ntfy.sh — these alerts only fire when there's a working uplink (e.g. failover succeeded, or WAN is just unstable not dead). For 'pipe is completely off' you'll find out the old-fashioned way.
- Configured at the controller, not at any host. To change what fires, edit it in the UniFi UI — there's no script in the path.
